About
I'm the Director of Engineering at Briebug, a Denver-based software consultancy, where I lead the engineering team and keep my hands in the code.
Over the last decade I've built for the web and led teams across consumer products, enterprise platforms, and real-time mission systems. The through-line is the same everywhere: build things that help people, and build them well enough that the next person can keep going.
Outside of work I build LineupSmith, which gives youth-baseball coaches fair, league-legal fielding rotations without the spreadsheet night. I've spent more than twenty seasons coaching youth sports, so I know exactly how much of a coach's evening a lineup can eat, and giving that time back is the kind of problem I love to work on.
Most of what I do comes back to building, learning, and passing it on: open source, speaking at conferences and meetups, writing here, and coaching people, whether that's engineers growing into their next role or kids figuring out a new position.
Away from the keyboard you'll find me outside, usually cycling, running, rucking, or riding motocross.
